Zepbound and Mounjaro land on a telehealth platform at $1,899 a month

Hims & Hers added Eli Lilly's Zepbound and Mounjaro, plus generic liraglutide, to its platform, and its shares closed up 5% on the day. The two weekly Lilly injections are listed at $1,899 a month on the company's own site, and the liraglutide at $299.

A telehealth platform is another access point, not a cheaper one. Liraglutide is the low number at $299 because it is a daily injection and can be less effective than other GLP-1 medications, so the saving is bought with a trade the buyer makes. Lilly says it has no affiliation with Hims & Hers, and notes that insurance coverage or buying straight from the manufacturer reduces the monthly cost.

That gap is the whole story for a household. The same medicine carries a different number depending on which door a person walks through, and $1,899 a month is not a bill many budgets absorb for long. The company's weight loss lineup has shifted repeatedly since it launched in late 2023, as supply and the rules around these drugs moved, and it expects the category to bring in at least $725 million a year.
